Why does an orchid appear to dance and sing?

Why does an orchid appear to dance? ~

It spends many months taking lashings from clouds ~

Then feels the relief from its rolled up fists. ~

Sensing the sun beating down on its cap ~

It opens its limbs like a maid gliding free ~

And why does it appear to sing? ~

It spends many months with its wing in a tie ~

Till smothering clouds take their shadows awry ~

It loosens its petals to stretch out its tongue ~

A diva that trills beneath a naked sky. ~
